Project Weirdo Wagon Begins!

Project Weirdo Wagon began in 2019 as a collaboration between myself and my father, Randy. Upon finishing graduate school Pops gifted me with the promise of a new tiny home, one that we would build together on the chassis of an old Chevy Shasta RV that he owned. Like most families our dynamics have become complex over the years but they have simple beginnings, as shown in the photo above of my paternal grandparents holding my father when they got their first “tiny home”. What began as a literally straight-forward building project has now become a symbolic journey of restructuring of our relationship, one that has ultimately strengthened our bond. We’ve had to start building a new home from scratch which means revisiting old patterns of communication, working on frustration tolerance, and creating new contingencies on how to best accomplish the goal. Follow along as we figure out a way to create a new home and foundation built on trust, communication, and family support.
