Rear floor Fabrication

We opened up the roof and now it was time to go the other direction and secure the floor in the back of the rig. Pulling up the rear floor was a hell of a job!! After I pulled up the carpet (shown in the time-lapse below), Pops and I got rid of the wafer-board subfloor and got to work reinforcing what good framing was left with steel and new wood. Pops welded in steel cross beams which attach to two vertical steel beams in the rear, and we buttoned up the rest of the wooden frame in the spots that had rotted. This is where the grey tanks are held, which means they will also need to be weight bearing to hold used water. No more floor drooping! We were able to place the new plywood subfloor after making cutouts for the tub drain. This felt like the first real piece of fabrication and was a super exciting step. The plan is to button up the back of the wagon as much as possible and work our way forward.
